Why I Don’t Claim to Be a Designer (And What I Offer Instead)

I’m Not a Designer, and That’s a Good Thing!

If you’ve ever wondered if I’m a designer, you’re not alone. It’s a question I get often, and the answer is simple: I’m not a designer. I know it’s easy to confuse the two, but I want to take a moment to explain what sets my services apart and why that’s something I’m proud of.

The Difference Between a Designer and Me

Designers and I may both work to transform spaces, but the way we approach it is different. Designers typically focus on reimagining and creating the overall look of a space, which often involves structural changes, layout plans, and heavy design work. My role, however, is to help you organize, curate, and optimize the spaces you already have, making them more functional, inviting, and in line with your lifestyle. I’m not rethinking entire layouts or choosing wall colors and furnishings (though I can certainly help guide you with some advice); instead, I focus on how the space works for you day-to-day.

What I Do (and What I Don’t Do)

So, what exactly do I do? My services focus on home organization, hosting, and creating inviting, curated environments that enhance your daily life. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Home Organization: I create intuitive systems that make your home work better for you. This could mean optimizing closet space, creating smart storage solutions, or helping with overall decluttering. The goal is to make your home feel calmer, more functional, and reflective of your personal style.

  • Curated Hosting Spaces: Whether you’re hosting a cozy dinner party or an intimate gathering, I specialize in crafting the perfect atmosphere for your events. I focus on the details that make your home feel welcoming—curating tablescapes, setting the mood, and making sure your guests feel comfortable and at home.

  • Eco-Conscious and Holistic Approach: I offer a holistic, eco-conscious approach that focuses on creating beautiful, sustainable spaces by utilizing what you already own, with a few intentional new purchases. This “less is more” philosophy aligns with my decluttering and organizing services, helping you simplify and optimize your home while reducing waste. By reimagining your existing pieces and making thoughtful additions, we create a balanced, functional, and authentic space that works for you in a way that feels both intentional and environmentally friendly.

Why Not Being a Designer is an Advantage

Being clear about my role means I can provide specialized services that focus on the details that many people overlook. I’m not coming in to redesign your entire home; instead, I help you create a space that truly serves you. Whether it’s organizing your kitchen to work better or helping you host gatherings that reflect your unique style, my services bring thoughtful, practical solutions to make your home more beautiful, functional, and enjoyable.

So, while designers have their place in the home transformation world, I focus on the everyday details that make a big difference in how your space feels. If you’re looking for a personalized, hands-on approach to organizing, hosting, or curating the perfect atmosphere for your home, then I’m the right fit.
